The Lucas Gillan Trio plays a diverse repertoire, ranging from standards to '70s soul to modern indie rock, all with an open, improvisatory jazz feel. The aim of the group is to create an engaging listening experience that is both sophisticated and unpredictable. They have performed at private events as well as restaurants and music venues in the Chicago area, including The Peckish Pig and Wine Goddess in Evanston and Cafe Mustache in Logan Square. Whether laying down a backbeat under a Bill Withers tune, grooving on some Blue Note-style swing, or transforming the melodies of Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens into their own jazz creations, the Lucas Gillan Trio always plays with taste and conviction.
"You provided the right background music to make the event complete. The special touch of learning the Muppet Theme song for our president was greatly appreciated! It was great working with you and hope we can do it again in the future." -- Karen LeVeque, Illinois Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Conference
"Thank you once again for an amazing performance at our event!" -- Rebecca Rodriguez, Kovitz Investment Group
